Engineering Manager - Maintenance Specialist
AWE is currently recruiting for an Engineering Manager - Maintenance Specialist to work within our Nuclear Risk Management Team, supporting infrastructure, plant and equipment projects directly related to Nuclear Safety.
Location: RG7 4PR, located between Reading and Basingstoke, with free onsite parking.
Package: Up to £70,000 (depending on your suitability, qualifications, and level of experience)

This role is ideally suited to an Engineering Manager with a strong understanding of ensuring compliance in a highly regulated, nuclear licenced, environment.
The Engineering Manager - Maintenance Specialist is considered a subject matter expert in managing compliance, risk, services, and maintenance methodology in the provision of supporting infrastructure, plant and equipment directly related to Nuclear Safety.
Working within the Nuclear Risk Management team, the successful candidate will be tasking the team to provide a valued service to the business ensuring all safety case derived maintenance requirements are clearly established, standardised, and appropriately configured with the broader safety documentation.
Who are we looking for?
We do need you to have the following:
Experience of successfully leading, motivating, and managing cross functional teams to deliver workplace solutions within a highly regulated environment.
Process safety management experience.
Understanding of Nuclear safety, the principles of the safe operating boundary, of operating and maintenance instructions, of linking documentation, and of quality systems.
Experience of enterprise asset management system and maintenance planning and delivery.
We'd like you to have experience in some of the following:
NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Safety & Health, or equivalent qualification in Occupational Safety & Health.
Education to a tertiary level in a STEM subject, or equivalent experience gained.
Evaluation and successful delivery of innovations and operational improvements.
Identification of risks and development of control measures to maintain business continuity for the delivery of workplace and facilities services.
Member of an appropriate professional Institute.
Demonstrated ability to respond quickly to changing situations and the changing needs of others.
Financial awareness, delivering value for money and added value.
Experience of successfully navigating complex cross discipline, technical and organisational issues.
You'll need to have the ability to work calmly and constructively, in a priority changing environment, and be able to manage your own workload. You will also have initiative, enthusiasm, a flexible approach, and ability to work to tight deadlines.

You will need to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role. This will be funded by AWE. The nature of our work does mean you need to be a British Citizen who has been resident in the UK for the past 5 years in order to apply for SC clearance and 10 years for DV.

Due to the nature of the work involved, there are limited opportunities to work from home in this role. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will spend the majority of their time working on site at AWE Aldermaston. Typically 3 days onsite per week.
